Overview

The client is a local cafe that offers a variety of drinks and snacks in a cozy and friendly environment. The client wanted to create a mobile app that would allow customers to place their orders without leaving their tables, thus improving their convenience and satisfaction.

Challenge

The main challenge was to design a user-friendly and reliable mobile app that would allow customers to browse, order, and pay for their items online with ease and confidence. The app also had to showcase the client’s unique value proposition, such as fresh and quality products, fast and friendly service, and loyalty rewards.

Process

The process involved the following steps:

  • User research: Conducted interviews, surveys, and observation to understand the user needs, pain points, preferences, and behaviors.
  • User personas: Created user personas based on the research findings to represent the target users and their goals.
  • User journey mapping: Created user journey maps to illustrate the user flows and touchpoints across the app.
  • Information architecture: Defined the information structure and navigation of the app using sitemaps and wireframes.
  • User interface design: Designed the user interface of the app using high-fidelity mockups and prototypes that followed the client’s brand guidelines and best practices.
  • User testing: Conducted usability testing with real users to validate the design solutions and gather feedback for improvement.

Solution

The solution was a mobile app that provided a convenient and satisfying way for customers to place their orders without leaving their tables. The app featured:

  • A simple and intuitive navigation that allowed users to easily access different sections and features of the app.
  • A comprehensive and appealing menu functionality that enabled users to browse and select their items based on various categories, such as drinks, snacks, combos, etc.
  • A quick and secure order functionality that allowed users to review their order details, apply discounts or coupons, choose their payment method, and confirm their order.
  • A smart and seamless table service functionality that allowed users to scan a QR code on their table to send their order directly to the cafe staff, who would then deliver their items to their table.
  • A personalized and rewarding dashboard that showed users their order history, loyalty points, notifications, and recommendations.
  • A responsive and friendly customer support functionality that offered users various channels to get in touch with the cafe staff, such as chat, phone, email, or feedback form.

Results

The mobile app was launched successfully and received positive feedback from both the client and the users. The app achieved the following results:

  • Increased user convenience and satisfaction by providing a quick and easy way to place their orders without leaving their tables.
